Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973, in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. A dual citizen of Germany and USA, Heidi Klum is supermodel, fashion designer, actress, television producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
Heidi Klum attended school in her hometown of Bergisch Gladbach. When still at high school, she won a national modelling contest called Model 92 in 1992 at the age of 19, and awarded a three year modelling contract with New York City's Metropolitan Models. She accepted the contract after graduating from high school four months later that year. The Metropolitan Models' contract marked the beginning of Heidi Klum's professional modelling career. However, her breakthrough into fame and wealth could be argued to have occurred ten years later in 2002, when she became Victoria Secret Angel.
As Victoria Secret Angel, Heidi Klum hosted Victoria Secret fashion shows in 2002, 2006, 2007, and 2009. At the same time, she featured on covers of esteemed fashion and beauty magazines including: Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Marie Claire, Glamour, and Harper's Bazaar. She also became spokesmodel for some big time companies including H&M, McDonalds, Braun, Dannon, Liz Claiborne, Volkswagen, and Jordache. She left Victoria Secret in 2010.

On the other hand, she has appeared in some popular TV shows including: Sex and the City, Spin City, Desperate Housewives, Yes Dear, How I Met Your Mother, Parks and Recreation, and more recently America's Got a Talent as a judge.
Also, Heidi Klum is a renowned TV producer. She was the host, judge, and producer of the popular reality TV show Project Runway. The show was debuted in 2004, and entailed competition of young fashion design aspirants, by which winners were offered opportunity to present their winning outfits at New York Fashion Week, as well as money for launching their own fashion lines.
Project Runway was so successful that Heidi Klum was honored with a Peabody Award in 2008, and Emmy Award nomination the same year.
Furthermore, Heidi Klum is an accomplished entrepreneur. Her business ventures have so far been on fashion design for both women and men, beauty products including perfume fragrances, and commercial endorsements, among others.
In September 2017, she unveiled new clothing range for the budget supermarket LIDL, at New York Fashion Week. At the launching ceremony, she indicated that the new clothing range was aimed at providing fashionable outfits that are affordable for all women. She specifically said and we partly quote: "....real clothes for real people. I am going for every woman out there....."
Finally but not least, Heidi Klum is an exemplary philanthropist. She has supported Red Cross massively, and as such, in 2014 she was honored with Crystal Cross Award by American Red Cross. Other charitable organizations she has supported include among others: Cancer Research UK, UNICEF, Children Defence Fund, Raising Malawi, American Foundation for AIDS, and Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
