Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Given New Names By Uganda's President - Kemigisha And Kanyesigye R

After receiving a present of a pair of white Yeeezy sneakers from Kanye West alias Ye and Kim Kardashian, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda reciprocated by giving the US celebrity couple new Ugandan names, reported various media sources on October 15, 2018.

Kanye West was given the name Kanyesigye, while Kim Kardashian was named Kemigisha. Both names have their roots in the Banyankole ethnic group to which President Museveni belongs. While Kanyesigye is a popular name among members of the ethnic group, Kemigisha means "the one with blessings from God" according to Uganda's president's office.

The rather contrasting present exchange took place on October 15, 2018 in the State House in the capital Kampala during a meeting Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had with the president .
