Nicki Minaj Cancels Saudi Arabia Concert After Criticisms

Nicki Minaj on July 9, 2019 cancelled her planned concert in Saudi Arabia, reported some media on July 10, 2019. The concert was scheduled to be held at Saudi Arabia Music Festival in Jeddah on July 18, 2019.

According to the reports, the cancellation was prompted by massive criticisms the popular rapper received for the planned concert. The critics are said to have been dismayed by the rapper's decision to hold a concert in a dictatorial country with one of the worst human rights records in the world. They particularly cited Saudi Arabia's chronic systemic oppression of women, among others.
