Maria Sharapova (35) has become the latest prominent celebrity primigravida to give birth. News about the birth was announced by herself on Instagram recently and reported by some US media on July 16, 2022.

According to the announcement, the former tennis megastar gave birth to her first child on July 1, 2022. The baby boy is named Theodore and the father is Maria Sharapova’s boyfriend Alexander Gilkes.

Maria Sharapova who is a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, retired from professional tennis in 2020.

More generally, 2022 has so far witnessed rather many prominent celebrity primigravidas that include Rihanna and Leona Lewis. As we are just at the middle of the year, one wonders who will be next.
