Emma Raducanu Runs For Cover After Stalker Appears Near Her During WTA1000 Match In Dubai

Emma Raducanu (22 ) ran for cover after a stalker appeared on the stands of a tennis venue, in close vicinity of her, during a match against Karolina Muchova, at WTA1000's Dubai Tennis Championships 2025 alias Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2025, on February 18, 2025. That was reported by some media on February 20, 2025.
According to the reports, the tennis superstar after spotting the stalker, got very scared and upset, abandoned the ongoing match, and run away from the court and hid behind the structure that entails umpire's stool.
She only came out from her hiding place and resumed playing the match after the stalker was arrested and taken away from the venue by police. Perhaps because of the incident, she lost the match, 6-7, 4-6.
Emma Reducanu is said to have encountered the stalker in Dubai the day before. The stalker, a man, reportedly approached her somewhere in town, on February 17, 2025, and gave her a letter, probably a love one. It is, therefore, not surprising that she got so scared when she saw him near her again at the tennis court.
The foregoing notwithstanding, this is not the first time the stunningly beautiful US Open 2021 Grand Slam winner has been stalked.
In 2021, when she was 19, one man called Amrit Magar who was 35 then, stalked her house in London persistently. In one occasion, Mr Magar is said to have left at the house a bouquet of flowers and a note that expressed his obsession of her. The note read as thus.
"Nothing to say but you deserve love"
The notorious stalker was finally arrested and taken to court in 2022. The court found him guilty of stalking and slapped him with a 5-year restraining order and 200 hours of community service.
