Coco Gauff reached the women's singles final at the French Open 2025, after mercilessly beating Lois Boisson in a semifinals match that took place on the evening of June 5, 2025. She won the match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. She did that in just 69 minutes.

In the final, the WTA world No.2 will encounter WTA world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka. Neither Coco Gauff nor Aryna Sabalenka has won French Open final before. Last time WTA world No. 1 and No. 2 had a duel at the French Open women's singles final was about 12 years ago when Serena Williams battled Maria Sharapova at French Open 2013.

If Coco Gauff wins the final, that will therefore imply her first French Open championship title and her second Grand Slam trophy.
