Avril Lavigne was given a present of a diamond necklace worth $80 000, by her new boyfriend Tyga on March 16, 2023. The expensive present is custom-made, and her name is inscribed on it. That was reported by some US media on March 20, 2023.

Later that day, the pop/punk/rock music superstar is said to have been sighted wearing the necklace during a romantic date night in Los Angeles, CA, with the rapper.

Avril Lavigne and Tyga are believed to have began dating in February 2023.
